Dr. Annika B. Bergbauer

PhD economist, AI transformation expert, IT manager, university lecturer, executive and management consultant based in the Munich area.

I regularly deliver keynotes on AI transformation and data-driven value creation for companies, at universities (Munich, Göttingen, Ulm, Rosenheim) and at professional conferences (TWDI, Versicherungsforen Leipzig, Data Science Summit). A full list of my talks and publications is available on request.

I conducted research at the ifo Institute in Munich and hold a PhD in Economics from LMU Munich. I previously researched at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. and completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics at the University of Göttingen, with study periods in Paris, Delhi, and Stellenbosch.

I work as a consultant for AI and data projects in programme and project management, with a particular focus on organisational transformation, the human challenges of this technology, and building an AI culture.

Making the seemingly complex topic of AI accessible is something I care deeply about — as a podcaster, speaker, and university lecturer. I always bring it back to what it means for our everyday lives.

Datenaffaire was nominated for the For…Net Media Award 2022 by the Research Centre for IT Law and Internet Policy at TUM, recognising its contribution to communicating digitisation in the public interest.

Collaboration

I work at the intersection of economics and AI transformation.

For five years I have been interviewing experts in data and AI from business, academia, politics, and public administration for this podcast — translating complex ideas into compelling conversations for analytical and pragmatic decision-makers. If that perspective is relevant to your organisation or your audience, we should talk.

Keynotes & moderation: I speak about AI transformation, the economics of work, and what the data actually shows — as opposed to what the hype promises. I translate research into frameworks your audience can apply the very next morning.
Your audience goes home with economic tools to think about AI.

Content consulting: Your organisation’s data goes unused, and AI isn’t delivering the value you hoped for. I help you create content that builds genuine understanding with a professional audience.
If your target audience has a short attention span and is looking for actionable insights, I know how to reach them.

For podcast partners: Datenaffaire reaches decision-makers across industries and institutions who act on evidence — with over 100 episodes and more than five years on air.
What value does your product deliver to my audience?
