How do lab researchers work? How do they grow bacteria? How do they have to store bacteria so that they don’t grow when they shouldn’t?

Dr. Claudia Igler and Dr. Danaja Stular are both post-doctoral researchers working with bacteria. Claudia works at ETH Zürich in the field ofof evolutionary biology, investigating the regulation of genes and evolution of resistance mechanisms in microbes. Danaja works at the National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana, where she develops antibacterial and antiviral coatings for textile materials.

Both of them answer to my amateur questions like can you see bacteria grow with your eyes? How do you count bacteria?
